CoolSculpting FAQ

Are non-surgical fat reduction results permanent?

Maintaining a healthy weight and diet will ensure that the results of Coolsculpting will remain stable and permanent. Changes can occur quickly and as early as three weeks while dramatic results can be seen after two months.

On average, each procedure results in a 20%-40% reduction of fat in the treated area. Further results can be achieved with additional sessions. A large number of patients find that one treatment fully addresses their goals as a result of a specially designed plan that suits each individual’s unique needs.

While the results of Coolsculpting does not provide a change as rapidly as liposuction, if you want to avoid the pain and risk involved with this surgical procedure, Coolsculpting may be right for you.

How long do the results last?

Patients show persistent results at least 6 months after the procedure. The elimination of fat cells as a result of Coolsculpting is expected to last as long as liposuction.

The process utilizes controlled cooling to freeze the fat within fat cells while not harming the overlying skin. The frozen fat within the cells enters the cell membrane and the fat cells are slowly absorbed and eliminated by the body’s inflammatory cells over time. The treated area loses 20% to 40% of fat cells and fat thickness. Additional treatments may be performed later to remove additional 20% – 40% percent of remaining thickness if desired.

Coolsculpting works fast on the abdomen, love handles, hips or the back area.

The appropriate patient for Coolsculpting is of a normal stable weight with fat in these areas that are resistant to diet and exercise. The procedure works equally well for men or women, requires no downtime or recuperation and has no scarring or side effects.
