Skin Cancer Screening

What to expect during your skin cancer screening.

Skincancer Screening

A skin cancer screen is known as a total body skin check and at Mariwalla Dermatology that’s exactly what we do – check all of your skin. We ask that you come to your appointment with minimal make-up, your hair down and no nail polish or toenail polish. Once in the exam room, you will be given a gown. We instruct our patients to keep their undergarments on but remove all other clothing including socks and undershirts and to wear the gown with the opening in the back.  One of the physicians at Mariwalla Dermatology will perform the exam starting at your fingertips. Your arms will be checked and then we tilt you back in the exam chair, check in between your toes and your feet and then check your legs, abdomen and chest. We then have you stand up and we check your shoulders, back and back of your legs. But that’s not it – we then have you sit while we examine your scalp, face, eyes, and mouth.
